How I Work

I like to develop a long term relationship with the businesses I work with.  I’m usually on first name terms with the management and staff and that’s one of the reasons I like to work with smaller companies.  My clients feel that they can ask me about aspects of their business and know that it will be kept confidential.

My work starts with an informal chat where I’ll find out about what you and what you’re trying to achieve.  I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about me and the services I offer.  If needs be i’ll return on another day to complete a survey, but all the questions I ask are designed to allow me to get to know you, your business and your aims.  Any solution that I offer will have to work within your business and it’s resources and so this stage allows me to make sure I offer the correct services.

At all stages I can be contacted by email or phone to discuss your requirements or answer any questions you have.

Some of the solutions i’ve offered to my clients are

  • Development of websites that they can manage themselves.  We live in a fast paced world and changes need to be made in a timely manner.  It is no longer acceptable for websites to only be maintainable by a website designer.  You need to be able to manage your wesite yourself if you want to.
  • Refreshing stale website designs. Your website is often the first time a potential customer gets to see your business and first impressions count.  Website visitors want to see a site that has consistent branding and provides information about how you can help them.
  • Developing a strategy to manage their social media.  To get the best out of social media you need to make sure your using the right services and using them regularly.  You social media strategy should help make the process easier.
  • Creation of video for websites.  After you’ve recorded your video you then need to get it into a format that the web understands.  Often a little editing won’t hurt at this stage as well.
  • Bespoke WordPress themes. There are millions of free themes out there and some of them are really good.  The goods ones are also really popular!  As businesses we work very hard to develop our USP (Unique Selling Proposition) to seperate ourselves from everyone else.  By developing a bespoke theme your business gains a UWT (Unique WordPress Theme) that matches your branding.
  • Creation of bespoke WordPress plugins to deliver a specific feature.  WordPress can do a lot for you out of the box but sometimes you need a feature that is specific to your business.  WordPress can be extended by using a bespoke plugin that adds the needed feature.

Once I’ve determined what services you need I will provide a proposal for their implementation and a quotation.  If I need to use any third-parties to deliver the solution that will be included in the costs as well.  The price is fixed against the agreed services and any changes will need to be quoted seperately.  Once the contractual formalities are out of the way I’ll schedule the work.  A deposit of 25% of the quotation value is payable before work commences.  The balance is due 7 days after the work is signed off.
